You deserve to be celebrated!

Kara Hendricks Photography is known for a one-of-a-kind experience. You will get a variety of images with different locations, multiple outfits, hair & make up and beautiful custom printed products to remember this important time in your life.

 My goal is to bring out your personality and inner beauty by helping you to relax and have fun. Be prepared for some jokes!


I schedule shoots on most weekdays and a one or two weekend dates dates per month. Most of my sessions take place 2 to 3 hours before the scheduled sunset. Urban or downtown locations take place in the am right after sunrise to avoid the crowds.

when do photo shoots take place?

I am here to help! I love to offer input as the what looks best on camera. I send every client a Style Guide and during our consultation, we will discuss all of the fun options for outfits and props.

what do i wear?

The earlier the better! My calendar books up months in advance, especially for peak seasons such as Fall & Spring. For Fall sessions I recommend booking in the summer and for Spring sessions I recommend booking in the winter.

how far in advance should
i book my session?

AZ gets a little rain, so I will watch the weather the day of your session, keep in contact with you and make the best decision for your shoot prior to meeting for hair and makeup. We may need to reschedule but we will get your shoot done!

what happens if the weather says rain
on my session day?

An urban vibe, a flower field, the desert landscape....what is your vision for your senior portraits? During our consultation we will talk about the different options and decide together on the best location to best fit YOUR personality and style. We can often find a large variety of backgrounds in one location, or we can go to multiple locations that are close together. Taking some studio portraits is an option too!

how do we choose a location?

Typically we schedule your View and Order session within 2 weeks of your photo shoot.

when do i get to see
my pictures?

The Session Retainer includes my prep time to plan your unique session, the
2 -3 hour senior session experience and a private ordering session in my studio office. It does not include your images or products. All prints, products and digital images are purchased separately.

what does a session
retainer include?

YES! This service is included in 2 of my session experiences, so you look natural and  camera ready! I will even make the appointment for you so you don't have to worry about those details!

is hair and makeup included
in the session fee?

I work with only the highest quality labs to ensure the color and quality of your products are heirloom quality and will stand the test of time. 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR PRINTS AND PRODUCTS AND THOSE I CAN PURCHASE MYSELF?

Absolutely! Friends, parents or siblings can come along to your session, they are invited to get some photos taken too! I will take about 15 minutes to get photos of you and guests.

Friends and parents are welcome and often can be a help like making you laugh or smile more easily. They will also serve as a big help to me in assisting me to get the best lighting on you!
